Alister Brown
Alister is a graduate of the University of Glasgow and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1994 in Deloitte’s Glasgow office. He remained with Deloitte post-qualification, working in their Corporate Restructuring practice, and transferred to their Corporate Finance practice in Newcastle in 1997.
A move into industry followed, and Alister served in senior financial leadership roles in a range of industries, including mining, marine engineering, specialist manufacturing and financial services. As part of these roles, in addition to leading teams of up to 20 staff, he led several business development projects, including 10 pre and post-transaction business acquisitions, settlement of a £1.75m property damage and BI insurance claim, and a logistics tendering process producing £1m annual savings.
In 2012, Alister established a niche CA practice, supporting growing and ambitious SMEs, in internal and external accounting, tax planning and compliance, and specialist business advisory services. This advisory element includes:-
